Bob and I hunted for 2 years and the right farm suddenly appeared. 8 acres of gently rolling hills, black walnut tree-lined drive and lots of out-buildings. We inherited Cosmo the cat and adopted a farm dog, Bobby. Taz, our faithful ex-city dog of 10 years, lived her final year to the fullest here and we like to think it was her best year.
In spring 2003, we bought an additional 28 acres, planting 4 of it in pasture and renting the rest. We gave a home to a kitten named Tuxedo. Bob had his hip replaced and we planted a few garden spaces. Two cows named agent 92 and agent 96 came and went, although they didn't end up in our freezer.
