Punchbowl National Cemetery

This is the drive leading to Punchbowl, which is cut into the side of a crater. The view at the top overlooking Honolulu is unbelievable.
Chinese Banyan trees were everywhere. Most trees had placards that identified them.
This statue sits at the top of several sets of stairs.

The state flower of Hawaii: Yellow Hibiscus.

A series of textured maps describe World War II action in the islands.

At the top overlooking the tree-lined entrance.

In the gardens at the top--more Hibiscus.

I think this is a bottle brush bush. I saw one like it at the Como Park Conservatory last summer.

Observatory platform. Notice Diamond Head under the palm frond.

I color coordinated with the plant.

I don't remember what kind of trees these were, but I'd like a couple of them in my yard...
More gardens.
